A website designed to advocate the health, civil rights, and social justice of key populations in Uganda
Overview
From June-August 2023, I participated in Out in Tech Digital Corps, a program dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ activists and social entrepreneurs globally. As a volunteer, I was paired with MONU (Men of the Night Uganda), a population-led organization that advocates for the health, civil rights, and social justice of key populations in Uganda. My role was to design and develop a WordPress website that would effectively communicate MONU’s mission, showcase their programs, and serve as a resource for the communities they support.
MONU lacked an online presence that accurately reflected their impactful work and allowed them to engage with their audience effectively. The organization needed a platform to inform and educate both locally and internationally. Without a dedicated website, MONU struggled to reach a broader audience, disseminate crucial information, and gain the visibility necessary to advance their cause.
My Role
Client Collaboration
Conducted initial meetings with MONU to understand their vision, goals, and objectives for the website
Content Management
Received and organized the copy provided by the client, which included detailed information about the organization, its programs, and ongoing research.
Web Design and Development
Designed and built the website on WordPress, focusing on creating a user-friendly, visually appealing, and responsive site that would engage visitors and convey MONU’s mission effectively
Infographic Design
Created custom infographics on Adobe Photoshop to visually communicate key aspects of MONU’s programs and research
